Vampires and Vampirism: Legends from Around the World (Classics of Preternatural History)by Dudley Wright Another reprint edition of Wright's work. Originally published in 1914, Wright's work represented the first in-depth attempt in English to compile vampire folklore from around the world and through history, and present various theories of vampirism. In 1924 a revised, expanded edition was published, which Montague Summers (The Vampire in Europe, The Vampire: His Kith and Kin) utilized in his own research. Wright, a historian of Freemasonry and Spiritualism, also introduced the general reading public to the concepts of "living vampires" ("sorcerers" who could travel astrally and steal blood) and psychic or sexual vampires.
