The Vampire: His Kith and Kinby Montague Summers More eclectic and unfocused than The Vampire in Europe, Summers' first foray into the murky field of vampires (in which he believed completely) addressed issues such as how vampires came into existence, related phenomena that was not vampiric (such as saints' bodies remaining undecayed or incidents of premature burial), how vampires behaved, vampire-like ancient myths and vampires in modern literature. This work contains some references to primary source material that apparently is no longer available. (Originally published in 1928.)
